Dubai Customs geared up for return of Umrah performers and visitors coming to Dubai to spend Eid al-Fitr holidays

Dubai Customs has completed its preparations for the return of UAE nationals and residents who performed Umrah during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan and receiving visitors to the country arriving at Dubai International Airport (DIA) to celebrate Eid al-Fitr holidays.
DC undertook a series of measures to facilitate the entry of travellers to DIA's three terminals and Al Maktoum Airport terminal, including maintaining collaboration with operating airlines to handle any obstacles or potential increase in passenger numbers and scheduling or reducing annual leaves of airport customs inspectors as needed.

Mr. Ahmad Abdullah Bin Lahej, Director of Customs Airport Operations at Dubai Customs, said that the DCs preparations for the return of Umrah performers from Mecca and the Eid al-Fitr holidays also include the instalment of advanced baggage/handbag screening devices and conducting an inspector training session to boost their inspection and reception skills.
These measures are aimed at saving travellers time and facilitating their entry to the country," added Bin Lahej.
Bin Lahej affirmed that Dubai Customs has appointed an integrated team of professionals to supervise the preparations made for the return of Umrah performers and visitors during Eid al-Fitr. Emirates Airlines has also agreed to inform DC beforehand on any possible increase in the number of passengers.

"Dubai is home to more than 230 nationalities, following different customs and traditions. This is why we need to be better familiarized with the different cultures of the world in order to deal with a vast variety of visitors coming to the country, he added.
