Beit Al Khair Society revealed the donation of Dh28.5 million to help the 10 million meals campaign that pursuits to distribute food to communities affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the UAE.

The Dubai charitys donation will assist provide 1.5 million meals worth Dh15 million and over 19,200 food parcels worth Dh13.5 million to low-income people and families throughout the country during the holy month of Ramadan.

The 10 million meals campaign, the UAEs largest community campaign, allows people and establishments to make monetary and in-kind donations towards offering food support in the form of 10 million food or meals parcels throughout the holy month of Ramadan to financially distressed people who have lost their income or had pay cuts amid the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement, Beit Al Khair Society stated the 10 million meals campaign emphasizes that safeguarding lives and maintaining the human dignity via securing fundamental life requirements have usually been the top precedence for UAE leadership. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, revealed on Sunday the launch of the 10 million meals campaign to help families and people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that left many going through unemployment and income reductions.

The campaign will be led by his spouse Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UAE Food Bank.

Individuals and entities can make economic or in-kind donations to provide food help to people in need as part of the 10 million meals campaign.
