DEWA honours its distinguished and creative employees

Dubai, UAE, 22 February 2015: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has conducted an award ceremony for its staff who demonstrated excellence in the third quarter of 2014 and the winners of its Ibdaa initiative. The ceremony was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Dr. Yousef Ibrahim Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, and DEWA staff. Al Tayer honoured 15 employees in the Distinguished Employee Category, and 10 employees for Ibdaa. The move is part of DEWAs strategy to recognise distinguished employees and creative ideas.
Al Tayer commended the efforts of the distinguished staff and encouraged them to continue their efforts to be role models for their colleagues and peers.

At DEWA, we are committed to honouring our distinguished staff. This supports the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to recognise distinguished employees and commend their efforts. It also supports the Dubai Plan 2021 for Dubai to be a city of happy, creative, and empowered people. It complements DEWAs objectives to adopt creativity and honour distinguished staff, which in turn achieves job satisfaction and improves service performance, said Al Tayer.

Al Tayer presented appreciation certificates to 15 winners in the Distinguished Employee category. They are: Shaban Abdel Gelil (Distinguished Employee - DEWA), Aysha Abid (Distinguished Employee -Administration & Finance), Maher Al Ejel and Naim Keilani (Distinguished Employee - Specialised Fields), Vijayan Ayappan and Mohamed Gharib (Distinguished Employee - Technical / Engineering), Mohammed Irshad (Distinguished Employee Field Services), Kaltham Al Mutawa and Hajar Salem Ali Almehri (Distinguished Employee - Female), Mohamed Ghareeb (Distinguished Employee - Supervisory Jobs), Mohammed Sajid (Distinguished Employee - Unknown Soldier), Hend Almheiri (Distinguished Employee - New Recruit), Fatima Al Suboosi and Essa Alhashemi (Distinguished Employee - UAE National), and Naziya Maniar (Distinguished Employee - Secretary).

Al Tayer honoured the Ibdaa initiative winners: The Innovative Idea team are: Abdulla Al Aghbari, Ameen Abu Alshawareb, Maryam Al Neaimi, Ahmad Shaban, Mahmoud Mazen, Muhannad Rizik, Jaffer Abdullah, Nadia Al Ali, Bashir Kothali. The Innovative Employee was Mohammad Yousef Al Rahmeh.
