DEWA honours 20 distinguished employees

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has honoured 20 distinguished employees in line with its commitment to recognise its workforce for outstanding service and contribution to the organisation.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Maryam Al-Mutaiwei, Vice President of Human Resources and DEWA managers and staff, attended the Awards ceremony.

“We organise the employee recognition ceremony reflecting the vision and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who inspires us to reward excellence and to ensure that we provide a competitive and positive workplace. By recognising exemplary work, we aim to promote a culture of organisational excellence. The award winners serve as role models for their peers, encouraging them to adopt best practices,” said Al Tayer.

Al Tayer said the management is focused on providing a competitive work environment for employees, which in turn will strengthen the overall performance of the organisation.

“By honouring best performing employees, we are further developing our human resources. We continuously invest in our human resources to increase productivity and enhance their competitiveness by adopting international best practices and applying the highest standards of quality and excellence,” said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources.

“DEWA has introduced this programme to recognise and reward our employees for their hard work and dedicated service and so further strengthen their capabilities and dedication and motivate them to achieve further successes,” said Al-Mutaiwei.

Al Tayer, accompanied by Al-Mutaiwei, honoured the DEWA Excellence Award winners of the Individual Category. They included: Syed Nadeem Janki for overall DEWA award, Zubaida Ahmed Alansari for Administration & Finance, Amjad Ahmad Al-Bewi and Mushtaq Ali Nasir for Specialised Fields, Rahul Chinubhai and Khalid Mehboob for Technical/Engineering, Gerry Tacis Mostrales for Field Services, Fatma Abdulla AlBalooshi as Distinguished Employee Female, Raghavan Sudharsanan for the Supervisory category, Mohammad Malik and Parvez Nisar both received the Unknown Soldier award, Abdulla Sultan Al Suwaidi and Abdulla Sulaiman Al Shaibani both received the New Recruit award, Reem Mohamed AlMansoori was recognised in the UAE National category, Sharmila Kiran Bolar received the Secretary award and Rizawan Mohammed was recognised for Creativity.

Al Tayer also presented awards to the Best Cable Jointers of the 3rd quarter of 2013, from the Projects Execution Department and Distribution Power.
