Dell Technologies and Tahaluf partner on AI-powered smart city services in the UAE
Dell Technologies and Tahaluf Al Emarat Technical Solutions have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop AI-powered solutions aimed at improving urban services, public safety and infrastructure management across the UAE.
Signed during Ai Everything in Abu Dhabi, the agreement brings together Dell Technologies’ artificial intelligence (AI) and edge computing capabilities with Tahaluf’s in-vehicle technology platform. The collaboration aims to help public sector organisations identify urban issues more quickly and improve responses to the needs of residents and visitors.
The MoU was signed by Walid Yehia, Managing Director – South Gulf at Dell Technologies, and H.E. Dr Ahmed Musabbeh Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer of Tahaluf.
AI and edge computing to support urban services
The collaboration will focus on processing information closer to where it is collected, using AI-enabled technology integrated with fleet vehicles. This approach could help government agencies and service providers monitor urban environments, identify emerging issues and take action with less reliance on continuous cloud connectivity.
Potential applications include detecting road and infrastructure problems, identifying parking violations and recognising public safety incidents. The technology is also intended to support parking management and the maintenance of roads and public spaces.
By providing faster visibility into issues across urban areas, the proposed solutions could help authorities improve operational efficiency and coordinate responses more effectively.
Partnership combines Dell and Tahaluf capabilities
Dell Technologies will contribute its AI infrastructure and edge computing expertise, while Tahaluf will bring its in-vehicle technology platform and experience in AI-driven IT solutions and cybersecurity services.
The partnership is designed to bring intelligent processing capabilities into everyday urban environments, allowing information gathered by vehicles to support operational decisions.
Walid Yehia said AI is creating opportunities for cities to become more responsive to the communities they serve. He added that the collaboration aims to help organisations identify issues earlier, make informed decisions and improve public services.
H.E. Dr Ahmed Musabbeh Al Kaabi said combining AI with existing fleet vehicles could provide service providers with greater visibility across communities and help them respond to infrastructure, parking and public safety requirements.
Supporting the UAE’s smart city ambitions
The agreement aligns with the UAE’s broader efforts to use AI and emerging technologies to improve government services and develop more connected cities.
Integrating AI into existing vehicle fleets could provide public sector organisations with additional ways to monitor urban conditions without depending entirely on fixed infrastructure or continuous cloud connections.
The companies expect the collaboration to support more efficient urban operations and help improve the safety, responsiveness and quality of services available to residents and visitors across the country.
