Checkout.com named Fintech of the Year 2025 by MENA Fintech Association at Abu Dhabi Finance Week

Global payments technology provider Checkout.com has been awarded Fintech of the Year 2025 by the MENA Fintech Association (MFTA) during its annual awards ceremony at Abu Dhabi Finance Week. The recognition highlights the company’s growing influence in advancing digital payments and enhancing merchant payment performance across the Middle East and North Africa.

The award marks a significant milestone for the region’s digital payments landscape. Over the past year, Checkout.com has expanded its presence and helped businesses address the complexities of local payment methods, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks. Its suite of payment solutions is designed to offer enterprise merchants greater control, improved acceptance rates, and seamless customer experiences.

Between March and November 2025, Checkout.com’s AI-driven optimisation system, Intelligent Acceptance, generated more than USD 10 billion in additional merchant revenue, underscoring the platform’s impact on driving scalable growth for businesses operating in the region.

The company’s contributions also extend to broader sectoral development. Earlier this year, Checkout.com announced plans to launch card-issuing capabilities in the UAE, making it one of the first global digital payments providers to invest in such an initiative. The move aims to support the next phase of fintech innovation and strengthen the region’s financial technology infrastructure.

Remo Giovanni-Abbondandolo, General Manager for MENA at Checkout.com, said the recognition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to the region.

“This is a proud moment for our entire team, our partners, and the merchants we support. As we conclude the year, this award stands as a strong testament to our dedication to powering performance through payments across the region and beyond,” he said.

He added that Checkout.com remains focused on building scalable, high-performance payment infrastructure that will continue to fuel economic growth “one transaction at a time.”
