Bozkurt & Campbell win Ecco Golf Classic at Arabian Ranches Golf Club

Fatih Bozkurt returned a net three under par 69, winning the Strokeplay Division in the Ecco Golf Classic, hosted by the Arabian Ranches Golf Club.

With two divisions, the Ecco Golf Classic contented Strokeplay for handicap holders between zero to 12, and Stableford for handicap holders of 13 to 26, with men and women competing together in their respective divisions.

Bozkurt was the only player in the Net division to post a score under par, winning by three against Serge Rahman on net 72. Playing off 12, Bozkurt had a solid front nine posting a gross 42 followed by a stellar 39 on the back nine to secure the win. The highlight of his round was posting a birdie two on the tough par three, seventeenth hole to go with his seven pars on his way to victory.

Ailsa Campbell almost stole the show on the day, not only did she win the Stableford division by two points where she posted a brilliant 44 edging out runner up Tarun Ponwar on 42 by two pints, but she also claimed both the nearest the pin prizes up for grabs for ladies on holes two and twelve.

Ailsa played impressive golf and sealed the deal with a staggering 25 points on the back nine to go with 19 on her front nine holes. This included a gross birdie on the tough eleventh hole.

The Arabian Ranches Golf Club features an 18-hole, par 72, desert style grass course designed by Ian Baker-Finch in association with Nicklaus Design. The 247 acre course, of which 120 acres are irrigated, has a unique character offered by indigenous shrubs and bushes.
