Al Qudra Lake, the new attraction in Dubai

Al Qudra Lake in Dubai, which is a man-made lake, is located at the middle of the Seih Al Salam desert and Bab Al Shams. It was made as part of a project to green and enrich that part of the desert of Dubai.

It is one of at least six other huge freshwater bodies created by the office of the Engineers of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai

Al Qudras leading attraction is its freshwater body covering about 10 hectares where the areas covering it have been planted with fruit trees and trees that give shade and greenery.

Some 130 species of birds have been spotted and recorded in Al Qudra Lake by Dr Reza Khan, Specialist, Wildlife and Zoo Management, Public Parks and Horticulture Department at Dubai Municipality, during his field visit.

Al Qudra Lake in Dubai is becoming one of most popular destinations for residents on their weekends. Numbers of fishes in the lake and birds attract and entertain the entire family from little ones to elders.

Those who wish to have a cycling there is a fantastic cycling track next to the lake. People can enjoy a safe cycling experience through the 86 km cycling path at Al Qudra.
