Ajman University Hosts 8th Annual Research Day to Foster Innovation and National Development

Ajman University (AU) marked another milestone in its academic journey by hosting the 8th edition of its flagship ‘Research Day’, an event designed to promote applied research, innovation, and national development. Held at Ajman Saray Hotel, the event brought together faculty members, students, and experts from both government and private sectors to showcase research aligned with the UAE’s strategic goals.

Organized by the Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies, Research Day served as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange. Students presented projects addressing real-world challenges across a wide range of disciplines, including urban planning, public health, law, sustainability, technology, and behavioral science.

Diverse and Impactful Student Research

Notable student-led projects included:

  • Sustainable freshwater collection systems developed by students from the College of Engineering and IT using condensation technologies.

  • Walkable urban design models and sensory-friendly spaces for children with autism, created by students from the College of Architecture, Art, and Design.

  • Green consumer behavior analyses from Marketing and Management majors.

  • Privacy rights and legal frameworks explored by College of Law students.

  • Research on healthcare access and clinical practices by Medical students.

  • Environmental and pharmaceutical studies from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

  • Innovations in oral healthcare by the College of Dentistry.

  • Social and behavioral studies by students of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Mass Communication.

These projects collectively highlighted Ajman University’s commitment to addressing national and global challenges through applied research grounded in social impact and sustainability.

Leadership Perspective

Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, emphasized the event’s significance:

“Research is one of the key pillars of our mission and the cornerstone of our vision to nurture a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy. By organizing this event, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering creative researchers capable of linking theory with practice and producing knowledge with real social impact.”

He added that AU, as a non-profit institution, channels its resources into strengthening the research environment and forming scientific partnerships that align with national development priorities, including UAE Vision 2071 and the National Innovation Agenda.
