Agon Capital, the UAE-based investment firm known for pioneering lifestyle ventures, has unveiled plans for its most ambitious hospitality project to date: Villivaru Island Resort, a design-led private island retreat in the Maldives. Developed in collaboration with Janah International Holding, the project marks Agon’s first entry into the Maldivian market and sets a bold new benchmark in ultra-luxury travel.

Strategically located in the North Malé Atoll, just 30 minutes by speedboat from Malé’s Velana International Airport, Villivaru Island Resort will feature 61 architecturally refined villas and 11 ultra-private branded estates. Designed to appeal to the world’s most discerning travellers, the resort blends cutting-edge design with ecological mindfulness and secluded opulence.

The project is being developed through Villivaru Holdings, a joint venture between Agon Capital and Janah International. The collaboration leverages Agon’s innovative approach to hospitality—already demonstrated in UAE ventures like Gitano, BCH:CLB, and The Coterie—with Janah International’s deep regional expertise and heritage.

Villivaru promises a symphony of exclusivity, offering not just luxurious accommodation but immersive, curated experiences. The 11 branded residences each feature private arrival pavilions, personal spas, sunset bars, and exceptional privacy, elevating the concept of villa living to new heights. Meanwhile, the resort’s expansive culinary program includes ten dining destinations, four signature restaurants, and two globally renowned culinary brands—delivering gastronomic excellence with every dish.
