Abu Dhabi to Revise Darb Toll Gate Timings, Remove Daily and Monthly Caps from September 1

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has announced changes to the Darb toll system effective Monday, September 1, including revised evening peak hours and the removal of daily and monthly fee caps.

From Monday to Saturday, evening chargeable hours will shift from 5pm–7pm to 3pm–7pm, while morning timings remain unchanged. Tariffs will still be waived on Sundays and official public holidays.

The current caps of Dh16 per day and Dh200 per month for the first vehicle — along with reduced rates for additional vehicles — will be scrapped. From September, motorists will be charged Dh4 for each pass through a toll gate with no upper limit.

Exemptions remain for eligible groups such as People of Determination, low-income families, senior citizens, and retirees.

The ITC said the changes aim to improve traffic flow and ease congestion during peak hours. Darb, launched in 2021, operates eight toll gates on the main bridges connecting Abu Dhabi city.
