6th edition of Xplore UAE by ENOC and AAC raises funds to provide 50,000 meals for families in need

The sixth Xplore UAE, an annual off-road event organised by Arabian Automobiles, the flagship company of the AW Rostamani Group and exclusive dealer for Nissan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, in association with ENOC Lubricants, a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), raised funds to provide 50,000 meals for underprivileged families.

The Guinness World Records breaking event, which claimed the title for the largest convoy of off road-vehicles with over 153 SUVs taking part last year, had almost double the number of participating vehicles this year.

More than 600 off-road enthusiasts in some 300 SUVs took part in the community event that raised AED 50,000 for ENOCs Human Fuel initiative, organised in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Dubai Charity Association.

The exciting adventure explored new areas this year, covering the wadis of Al Ain and also undertaking a challenging desert drive through the Sweihan area. The event also included breakfast and lunch for all participants in addition to a BBQ dinner with live entertainment.

Saeed Khoory, CEO of ENOC, said: Xplore UAE is now one of the most awaited off-road adventure trips bringing together people from various walks of life to explore the natural splendour of the UAE while also making a difference to the society. We are thankful to all the participants, who through their involvement in this community event, also contributed to our CSR initiative to address global hunger.

Michel Ayat, CEO, Arabian Automobiles, said: Xplore UAE is our flagship community event, which promotes the spirit of off-road adventure among motorists, enabling them to also explore the power of their vehicles. This year, the adventure was made even more memorable as the participants trekked new destinations. But the most significant impact was the event raising funds to feed people who are in need across the region.

Elise Bijon, WFP Partnerships & Business Development Manager, Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, said: It is inspiring to see hundreds of Dubai residents, families of all nationalities, gathering for a day to embrace the beauty of the UAE while helping build a world with zero hunger. Through their participation and the support of our partner ENOC, Xplore UAE organisers, Al Rostamani and Arabian Automobiles and all the sponsors behind this initiative, the equivalent of 50,000 meals was raised to help families in need across the region.

Through its Human Fuel CSR initiative, ENOC aims to encourage its customers to make donations to WFP programmes such as school meals or for provision of food where it is most needed. Even a contribution of one dirham can make a huge difference to the lives of the hungry, as the amount can feed a child for an entire day. Special donation boxes have been placed across the entire network of ENOC/EPPCO service stations in Dubai, where motorists can conveniently make their donations. They can also visit a dedicated and secure website at https://wfp.org/enoc to make their donation.

AutoPro, Emirates Islamic Bank and RSA Insurance were the Platinum Sponsors of the sixth Xplore UAE.
