As Etihad Rail prepares to launch passenger services in phases during 2026, residents will soon experience intercity rail travel featuring modern stations, comfortable cabins, Wi-Fi connectivity, family seating areas, power outlets and dedicated luggage spaces designed to make journeys smoother and more accessible. The first operational stations are expected to connect Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah, with Fujairah Station becoming the network’s first fully completed passenger station. The wider rail system will eventually include stops across Sharjah, Al Dhaid, Al Mirfa, Madinat Zayed and other locations, offering both Comfort and Premium travel classes. Officials say the phased rollout is intended to prioritise safety and passenger experience, while many residents are now wondering whether the long-awaited rail network could significantly reduce road travel and reshape commuting and tourism across the UAE.
