How will Sharjah’s three new bus routes improve access to the UAE’s Etihad Rail network?
Sharjah has launched three new bus routes connecting Al Dhaid’s Etihad Rail station with Al Madam, Al Sajaa and Sharjah city, making it easier for commuters to access the national passenger railway. Announced by the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), the routes are ER1 (Al Madam–Al Dhaid), ER2 (Al Sajaa–Al Dhaid) and ER3 (Sharjah–Al Dhaid). Al Dhaid became Sharjah’s first Etihad Rail station on September 30, 2026, connecting the emirate to Fujairah and Abu Dhabi. The new services aim to strengthen links between buses and rail, offering residents more convenient public transport options. Separately, Dubai has improved rail connectivity through a pedestrian bridge linking Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station with Etihad Rail’s Dubai Al Yalayis Station, featuring escalators and moving walkways.
