Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority has relaunched the Purple Route and is offering free bus rides for one month from June 3, 2026, to encourage public transport use and improve mobility across the emirate. The upgraded route now covers 14 kilometres in each direction, operates 12 daily trips, and includes nine stops linking key locations between Al Nakheel and Manar Mall. Major destinations along the corridor include the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, Obaida Allah Hospital, American University of Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah Hospital, the Public Health Centre – Preventive Medicine, and the People of Determination Centre. The move is designed to make daily travel more reliable, accessible, and sustainable. Would free public transport trials encourage more people in the UAE to switch from private cars to buses?
