'Designs of Hope' Charity Fashion Exhibition

In support of 'The UAE Initiative for Connection with Orphans and Minors' that was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to provide support for children without families, Dubai Ladies Club is organising the 3rd edition of its acclaimed Charity Fashion Exhibition called Designs of Hope. The exhibition is scheduled to run from Wednesday, 30th June, 2015 until Friday, 3rd July, 2015 and will be open to ladies only from 10.00pm - 1.00am; entry is complimentary to all guests. Commenting on this occasion, Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, Director of Dubai Ladies Club said: We are delighted to organise the 3rd edition of Designs of Hope, in support of The UAE Initiative for Connection with Orphans and Minors. As one our most highly anticipated annual events, our hope is to remind people about the importance of giving back at this auspicious time of year." She continued, Following the noble example of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment and Dubai Ladies Club, we are committed to building a culture of volunteerism and philanthropy, further establishing the UAE as a beacon of humanitarianism. This event is collaborative effort, that showcases the generous spirit of our society. We truly appreciate the generosity of the participating designs who have donated their beautiful creations for an equally beautiful cause. I am confident that some wonderful opportunities will open up for those in need with the valuable funds raised. The exhibition will feature over 19 Emirati fashion labels which include Mauzan, Wings Collection, Slouchy'z, Feryal Al Bastaki, 1001 Abayas, Lamsaty, Moonoir, The Black Thread, Yazy, HF Boutique, Eclatant, Le Mono Chrome, Maryam and Meera, Plisse Couture, Reserved Abayas, Designers Empire, Kan Line, R Design, Moza Collection. Each designer has generously donated over 20 pieces from their collections for the exhibition. Guests can look forward to amazing offers and deals as all donated pieces are priced at AED 1,000 only, regardless of their original value. Moreover, this year the designers will also be showcasing their Eid Collections with a percentage of the sales benefitting the cause. Designs of Hope will also welcome the participation of CRYO Health and Brain Flowers, who are also popular retails outlets at Dubai Ladies Club. Moreover, catering is kindly sponsored by Al Barza Catering, who will be bringing a rich selection of authentic Emirati snacks and drinks for guests. Dubai Ladies Club launched Designs of Hope in 2013, where AED 300 thousand were raised to help prevent and cure blindness and restore the gift of sight to the poor around the world, through Noor Dubai Foundation. The following year in 2014, the exhibition grew its impact by raising over AED 500,000 to benefit the UAE Water AID initiative, , with the aim to help provide five million people in developing countries with improved access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation. Similarly, since its inception in 2003, Dubai Ladies Club has consistently worked towards adding value to the lives of Emirati and expatriate women living in the UAE through in-house events, facilities and pilot projects. In line with the Clubs ongoing commitment to community work and social development. In the past, DLC has worked with a number of non-profit and goodwill organizations, helping educate the public about their missions including various fundraiser events to support the FOCP Charity Bazaar, Gaza Crisis, Dubai Cares Water Bucket Campaign, Fundraising bazaar for Dubai Centre for Special Needs and many more. Moreover, the events department at Dubai Ladies Club also offers charitable organizations the opportunity to host charity events and fundraisers at the Club free of charge.
