Ahmad bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General, SLC, said that the declaration of 2017 as the 'Year of Giving' is derived from the wise leadership's commitment to follow the value of sharing and giving, which was instilled upon by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to be the structure of a strong and solid union that represents the goal of the UAE individuals to build a society based on strength, pride and a brilliant future significant with justice and righteousness. H.E. Al Muhairi stressed the dedication of SLC to support the nationwide efforts to combine the concept of providing as a general social trend with a goal to make a genuine difference in the life of individuals and neighborhoods inside and outside the UAE, in line with the vision and guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed stated that "Real offering lies in making a difference in another individual's life, or the life of a community, or in the journey of a country".
H.E. Al Muhairi included: "Our conversations during the workshop focused on showcasing ways to invest the imaginative energies in the society and use it to assist in achieving the objectives of the 'Year of Giving,' along with our function in combining the culture of goodness and additional accelerating the move for extensive advancement.
