RTA holds a workshop about the safe usage of the internet

The Technology Strategy and Governance Department at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in cooperation with the Human Resources & Development Department, held a workshop about the much safer usage of the internet. The occasion, which coincided with the International Internet Day, drew participation from numerous RTA worker extending numerous sectors & agencies of RTA.

"The aim of this workshop was to raise the awareness about the usage and legal consequences of the internet use, besides improving the ethical & suitable behavioral requirements should be observed by internet surfers," said Abdullah Al Bastaki, Director of Technology Strategy and Governance of RTA's Corporate Technology Support Services Sector.

Highlighting the advantages of going to such workshops, Al Bastaki said: "These workshops efficiently add to providing helpful tools & programs for users, and enhancing the collaborations towards supporting suitable structures for safe usage of the web.

"This workshop focused on leveraging the knowledge of users about the value of consequences & preparing for information security by utilizing info & a tool kit capable of enhancing the execution of the program in such a way befitting the nature of each specific system. It also bolstered efforts to securing federal government details security in order to combat dangers in such a way befitting the scope of threats that might arise from the loss, misuse or gaining a prohibited access to such info," he noted.

"This workshop also boosted the function of strategic partnership with the economic sector and RTA partners with the purpose of helping knowledge transfer, and benefiting from the well established international knowledge in this regard," added Al Bastaki.

"The workshop was held in collaboration with Gartner International Inc. in the context of upgrading the abilities of the getting involved RTA staff members, and instructing them about the latest developments of information security. Such cooperation will contribute immensely to enhancing everyday routines, and empowering the capabilities of staffs in taking on security breaches," noted Al Bastaki. He concluded by stressing that the RTA constantly aims to widen and update the abilities and abilities of workers in different specialties.
