Ministry of Health and Prevention announces visiting doctors program to be launched in June

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has revealed details relating to the "Visiting Doctors Program," set to be launched in June 2016. The effort will provide clients with advisory, diagnostic and restorative services in the field of orthopedic surgery, interventional cardiology and neurosurgery. The program includes the involvement of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in Ajman, and Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah and Fujairah Hospital.

Dr. Francois Ehkirch consultant orthopedic surgery (knee sports injuries) will be the visiting doctor at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital from May 29 to June 2, 2016; Dr. Branko Beleslin specialist interventional heart disease will be the visiting doctor for Al Qasimi Hospital from June 19 to 23, 2016; and Dr. Andrew Davidson, an expert neurosurgeon, will be appointed to Fujairah Hospital from June 19 to 23, 2016.

The Ministry stays committed towards incorporating internationals medical standards within its program to offer quality health services to people and expatriates alike. This effort likewise plays an active role in boosting the medical training of physicians and technical personnel across the emirates as part of the nationwide efforts to update medical proficiencies, and make sure that patients will not need to travel abroad to get treatment for their respective diseases.
