The world commemorates 'World Water Day' on 22 March yearly to increase recognition on water problems and obstacles that intimidate worldwide water safety and security, including environment change, population growth, urban growth, and poor water administration in some locations. On now, we at Dubai Electrical power and Water Authority (DEWA) state our dedication to supporting global initiatives to locate lasting remedies to reducing water wastage, in adherence with the wise vision and instructions of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

We take this responsibility seriously and function in the direction of improving water solutions as this is important for our future welfare. DEWA provides water services according to the highest global criteria of efficiency, reliability and sustainability, to fulfill present and future demands in Dubai. Presently DEWA provides 470 million gallons of desalinated water per day, while water network losses reduced to 8% in 2016, compared to 15% in North America.

In adherence with our vision to become a lasting innovative first-rate utility, we are committed to taking on the most recent technological developments, and the best global practices, along with performing many recognition programmes to encourage the community to take on a society of reasonable water consumption. Our initiatives to decrease water consumption over the last 8 years have actually achieved remarkable results.
