Maisoon Al Saleh Is UAE Ambassador of Fine Arts at Beijings Shangyuan Art Museum

Maisoon Al Saleh, a young Emirati multidisciplinary artist, has recently stood for the UAE at a solo exhibit titled "DXB to PEK", part of the Global Residence Programme at Beijing's Shangyuan Art Museum.

Al Saleh is Project Manager at the Smart Services Division of the Smart Dubai Government Establishment, making her part of the group at the Smart Dubai Office, which functions to advancement and quicken Dubai's change into a smart city.

The Shangyuan Art Museum in Beijing provided Al Saleh a solo event - rather than her taking part in a group showcase - in recognition of her devotion and creativity, as well as the creativity of her work. Al Saleh showcased 30 of her art works, several of which ended up being included into the gallery's exclusive collection.

The artists works stirred fairly a buzz at the exhibit: Al Saleh had gained a diving certificate, allowing her to develop paints underwater and making her the very first Emirati to do so. The adventurous painter is passionate regarding wreckage diving; she has searched the region to explore shipwrecks, most well-known which was the MV Dara - the Dubai-based passenger lining that sank in the Gulf on April 8, 1961. Al Saleh depicts the websites she explores in exquisite paintings that incorporate the imaginative and the human. Her display dug deep into just what this trip to Beijing implies, combining the city's society with her very own, and skilfully organizing shapes and colours into her canvas to gain her title of "Ambassador of Art".

Al Saleh's showcase at the Shangyuan Art Museum is her third to date; her very first solo event was held in Sharjah's Maraya Art Centre in 2010 labelled "The Bright Side of the Bones", while her second was held at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre's (DUCTAC) Gallery of Light in 2011, where 10 paints that reflect life in the UAE were displayed.

Birthed into a artistic family, where her mother is a fashion designer and her father is a digital photographer, Maisoon Al Saleh is an Emirati surrealist visual musician; she is understood for skilfully blending modern art with standard Emirati culture. She was selected by Break Dubai as one of the most effective artists in the emirate in 2011.

Al Saleh started her art career in 2008. A year later on, in 2009, she contributed her work to the "Emirati Expressions: Art from the Heart of the Emirates" exhibition, held at Emirates Royal residence's Gallery One. Beyond the UAE, Al Saleh's job has been presented in the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art; the Palazzo del Te, Italy; and the Centro Social CajaGranada Memoria, Spain; in addition to numerous shows in the United States.

Moreover, Brand name Dubai, the creative arm of the Federal government of Dubai's Media Office, commissioned Maisoon Al Saleh and a group of young Emirati artists to deal with the "2 nd of December Street" project, where Al Saleh paintinged a mural made from old stamps. The project was introduced and carried out by Brand Dubai and the Dubai Municipality; it makes up the very first stage of the Dubai Street Museum scheme.
