A Journey to the Top of the UAE

Jabal Al Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, among the seven emirates in the UAE, is 1,650 metres high and makes for an excellent household day out. The drive from Dubai is around an hour and a half and as soon as you begin the climb, it's around half a hr to the top. You do not require a 4x4 to get to the top, there were a lot of sedans doing the climb with us, however make sure to have a complete tank. Out Ford Explorer took us up fairly comfortably.

The sharp hair-pin bends and the winding roadways might make you a bit dizzy if you're not utilized to that sort of thing, but there are plenty of places you can stop to pause, take in the fresh hill air and do some wonderful digital photography. You'll spot lots of mountain goats and they're fairly utilized to the sight of human beings, going by their easy-going fashion.

The road pertains to a stumbling block before the summit and you could do the rest of the get on foot. You could take the unbeaten course up the high mountain-side, or the well trodden roadway if you're really feeling less adventurous. What far better spot for a picnic? And the drive will make you starving. While the mountains are rocky with not a spot of green anywhere, the views are quite magnificent. In winter season, it snows, hails and temperatures could drop to sub-zero. If you stay in the UAE, browse through both in summer season and winter. We went recently (mid-March), and temperatures dropped to 15 degrees on top. It was around 20 levels at the foot of the mountains.

Put on durable footwears and take a jacket. The wind chill variable right as much as April could make it rather chilly. You'll love the drive and you'll enjoy the images you take. Make sure to take that selfie or groupie with the splendid mountains behind-the-scenes as evidence that you really were at the top of the UAE.
