Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture Opens in Partnership With Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of ADFCA, the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture will open on Monday 20 March at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Held in strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and supported by the Ministry of Presidential Matters and Ministry of Environment Adjustment and Setting, the GFIA meeting will include speakers from worldwide taking on five key obstacles: climate-resilient plants; growing the aquaculture industry; future-proofing animal health; smallholder farmer development; and sustainable animal production.

The first day of the conference will begin with a welcome address by His Excellency Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Modification and Environment in the UAE. Amongst the other highlights on the first day is a session on day palm production, which will certainly present the difficulties and possibilities facing manufacturers of days, one of one of the most vital plants in the Middle East, and will certainly consist of Dr Majid Sultan Al Qassimi, Director of the Animal Health and Growth Department of the Ministry of Environment Change and Environment.

Thamer Al Qasemi, Director of the Communication and Service Division at ADFCA, claimed: "When the GFIA was launched in 2014, it leveraged collaborations with over 40 significant organisations that wanted a platform to show the world just how innovation gives us the only real adjustment of feeding 9 billion people without ruining the environment.

" Now in its fourth edition, the GFIA is not only a forum for key stakeholders to go over plan, strategy and solutions for a food safe and secure future, however a real-time marketplace for distributors to fulfill hundreds of farmers and procurement managers from government, food producers, agri-businesses, NGOs and cooperatives.

" The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has supported the advancement of GFIA since its creation and this year, we are holding two unique programmes-- one for farmers flying into Abu Dhabi from worldwide and an additional for the best researchers working in lasting farming. These programs will certainly have a great influence on the success of the occasion as we deal with the overarching goal of attaining ecologically accountable farming practices.

Amongst the panel of speakers throughout both Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 March will be H.E. Khadim Al Darei, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Al Dahra Farming Company; H.E. Memli Krasniqi, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Advancement in the Government of the Republic of Kosovo; Andr Laperrire, Executive Director, Global Open Data for Farming and Nourishment (GODAN); Dawood Al Yahyai, Director of Aquaculture Development, Ministry of Farming & Fisheries in Oman; Eng. Ahmed R. Al Ballaa, Chief Executive Officer, National Aquaculture Group; and Alya Al Mazroui, Programe Manager at the National Centre of Meteorology & Seismology, who will certainly be giving an update on the development to date of the UAE Research study Program for Rainfall Enhancement Science.

GFIA will feature an exhibit hosting some 250 companies and an Innovations Programme, showcasing a collection of 15-minute talks from firms who assume they have a next-generation service that might shape the future of farming around the world.
