Dubai Culture and General Command of the Civil Defense welcome Ramadan with awareness activities

In line with the UAE Initiative for Connection with Orphans and Minors launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirates dedicated entity for heritage and culture, has joined hands with the General Command of the Civil Defense to organise awareness activities for orphans and families on safety concepts during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The campaign is being held at the Heritage Village in Al Shindagha Historical Neighborhood for one week.

The awareness campaign educates UAE nationals, residents and visitors on the essential role that Civil Defense plays in protecting their lives and property, and thus contribute to the nations sustainable development.

Several activities and programmes are being showcased including an awareness fair on safety equipment; cultural competitions for the audience; tour with Salem Figherfighter characters within the village; presentation of General Command of the Civil Defense vehicles; Al Salamah village theatre and distribution of brochures.

The event was attended by Khalifa bin Dray, Executive Director of Dubai Ambulance Services Foundation, Major General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Acting Director General of UAE Civil Defense, Colonel Salim Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Assistant Director General of the Dubai Civil Defense for Prevention and Protection, as well as, managers from General Command of the Civil Defense, and representatives from Dubai Municipality and RTA.
Through its support, Dubai Culture is underlining its commitment to social responsibility by extending support to all segments of the society, especially during the Holy Month, highlighted by the values of camaraderie and solidarity.
