DIFC's Preferred Position for Hedge Fund Ecosystem Develops Through Exclusive HFM Partnership

Partnership brings new event to the region for the first time in 2024

Today, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), recognized as the premier global financial hub in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region, has confirmed an exclusive partnership with HFM, the hedge fund division of the global data intelligence firm With Intelligence, to introduce the region's inaugural exclusive hedge fund event in 2024.

This collaborative endeavor aims to inaugurate an invitation-only gathering centered on the hedge fund sector, offering valuable content sessions, interactive roundtable discussions, and integrated networking activities.

Scheduled for the 15th of May at the DIFC, the HFM Summit will convene hedge funds from around the world in Dubai.

Carefully curated by industry experts, the agenda is designed to ensure relevance to the market, covering a spectrum of topics such as markets and regulations, talent and culture, AI and digital assets, investor preferences, varied business models, and the integration of new technology.

This event follows the recent announcements made by the DFSA about the authorization of several globally renowned hedge funds in the last quarter of 2023. Esteemed names such as Asia Research & Capital Management, Brevan Howard, Lighthouse Partners, Merlyn Advisors, Noventa Capital Management, and Qube Research & Technologies have been authorized, with Blue Owl Capital and Walleye Capital successfully completing their registrations.

As the number and diversity of hedge funds established within the DIFC continue to expand, the Center is witnessing a deepening of its ecosystem. This includes a variety of hedge funds employing different investment strategies, additional prime brokers, technology startups, and partners eager to contribute to the industry's development.

Salmaan Jaffery, Chief Business Development Officer at the DIFC Authority, expressed, "As DIFC evolves into a global center for hedge funds and alternative asset classes, we are committed to fostering partnerships, such as the one with With Intelligence, to organize conferences like the HFM Middle East Summit. This event highlights the opportunities for global hedge managers to thrive in the region's largest financial hub."

Stephanie Taylor, Head of Event Content at With Intelligence, stated, "The launch of this event coincides with a momentous period of growth in the sector and positions Dubai as the pivotal hedge fund hub in the region. The new HFM Middle East Summit serves as an avenue for us to expand our brand presence in the Middle East and extend support to our clients as they contemplate international expansion into this region."

Apart from organizing industry events across Asia Pacific, Europe, the UK, and the US, With Intelligence stands as a leading provider of investment intelligence for guiding allocation decisions, fundraising endeavors, and business development within the financial domain.
