Al Falasi commends University of Dubai alumni role in enriching education sector

Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education Affairs, prompted more than 300 Alumni from the University of Dubai to continue their efforts to improve the education sector with originalities and provide the work market with finest human resources in the country.

Dr. Al Falasi mentioned this while attending to the 7th Annual Alumni Homecoming event at Palazzo Versace hotel in Dubai. The reunion occasion, in support of UD Alumni Association, was attended by agents from the public and private sectors.

Speaking on the celebration, Dr. Eesa M. Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, stated: "University of Dubai, which prides itself for providing quality education, intends making Dubai and UAE a center of international education along with other quality universities in the nation.".

The occasion witnessed the involvement of members of University of Dubai Board of Trustees headed by the President of the Board, Majid Al Shamsi. Numerous members of the Dubai Chamber Board of Trustees also went to the event. The Minister of Higher Education handed over awards of gratitude to the most active and successful UD alumni this year.

The event occurred as UD Alumni Association commemorates this year its 10th anniversary. The Association is headed by its alumni member Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum.

Ahmad Falasi, the Association Vice President delivered a speech on behalf of Sheikh Al Maktoum mentioning that the Association which raised more than AED 2 million in funds recently, supported many UD students to allow them to continue their educations. He added that the Association is thought about among the most active and effective alumni associations because of its special programmes such as; Alumni Student Mentoring Programme, Alumni Continuous Learning Program, Alumni Guest Speaker Series and Alumni and Buddies of the University of Dubai Scholarship Funds.

The speakers praised the generous sponsorship of Nakheel, one of the world's leading leading real estate developers, whose video showing its world-famous projects was played at the event. They also praised the Alumni Group headed by Ms. Amina El Marzak who contributed in establishing the Association One Decade back. Entertainment and valuable prizes became part of the agenda.
