AkzoNobel joins Emirates Green Building Council with an aim to Turn the Skylines Green

AkzoNobel, a leading global paints company, has joined Emirates Green Structure Council ( EmiratesGBC), an independent forum focused on conserving the environment by reinforcing and promoting green structure methods. As one of the global leaders in sustainability, the company is devoted to share its proficiency and ideal experiment the construction industry.

AkzoNobel has consistently constantly been a part of Chemical World Index and the Europe Index of the influential Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).

Rajiv Rajgopal, AkzoNobel Regional Director - Efficiency Coatings for Middle East & Africa, stated: " We are honoured to sign up with hands with EmiratesGBC to construct a greener future for our coming generations by creating extra habitable and motivating city settings. Going green is a crucial problem for the building industry all over worldwide and specifically UAE. Roughly one third of all greenhouse gasses come from buildings. Buildings utilize concerning 40 percent of the world's power, and a quarter of its water. In a world of restricted sources, if we could do something concerning this specific industry, we will make a substantial payment to sustainability"

In addition to its focus on manufacturing green coatings, AkzoNobel is a solid champ of socially responsible development. It has revealed the 'Human Cities' initiative, which is led by sustainability as a key column. Nearly 60 percent of AkzoNobel's products are used in buildings, facilities and transport.

Through its 'Human Cities' manifesto, AkzoNobel intends to produce more "human" urban environments by making cities come active, allowing individuals making even more of an emotional connection with where they live.
